<p>Last night, the team from Tanka Creative were delighted to join our social betting client <a href="http://www.bodugi.com">Bodugi</a>, at the <a href="http://www.betviewmagazine.com/awards/">Betview Awards 2012</a>. We donned our dinner suits and headed along to the Grosvenor house hotel, Park Lane, where we drank champagne and waited nervously for Jeff Stelling to take to the stage to announce the winners. </p>
<p>All of the hard work Bodugi and Tanka Creative have done over the last year paid off, when Dave Nevison and Michael Wilson were invited to take to the stage to collect their award. Bodugi pipped fellow nominees Bet Butler and Bettor to the prize for Newcomer of the Year. </p>
<p>Michael said <b>&#8220;We&#8217;re absolutely over the moon. It&#8217;s been a year of hard graft, but it&#8217;s all been worth it to get this recognition from our peers in the industry. Now we just have to keep pushing ahead and getting our name out there.&#8221;</b></p>
<p>It&#8217;s been an exciting year so far, working with Bodugi to develop their social media strategy, designing whitelabel versions of their social betting games, and working on the launch of Bodugi&#8217;s innovative affiliate scheme. We look forward to working with them on many more projects, and hopefully this will be the first award of many! </p>

<p><strong>Tanka are delighted to announce that Kirsty Bell will be joining the Tanka Creative team as Digital Strategy Director. Kirsty joins us from <a href="http://www.yomego.com/">Yomego</a>, an award-winning social media agency, where she has worked with brands including Tesco, Durex, Scholl, Adobe, Scholastic and Morrison Bowmore distilleries to develop and implement social media strategies, training programmes, and campaigns. </strong></p>
<p>Kirsty has a wealth of experience in social media measurement and analytics, having worked to develop Yomego’s bespoke monitoring service, Social Media Reputation (SMR).  She has also spoken internationally at social media events and conferences on a diverse range of subjects including B2B social media, developing a global social media strategy, and delivering improved customer service through digital channels.</p>
<p>Kirsty also holds the accolade of being the first Scottish person to join the Tanka team, so we’ll be sure to raise a glass of whisky to celebrate her becoming a part of the agency!</p>

<p>The user experience has been improved on the homepage by strategic use of helpful new sidebar panels.  This allows more Calls to Action for the user, and the panels are now broken down into more specific detail, allowing the user to go exactly where they wish to navigate.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="size-full wp-image-344 alignleft" title="Twitter Business Profile" src="http://tanka.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/twitter_profile_01.png" alt="" width="225" height="140" /><strong>Earlier this month, Twitter announced a programme in which they will be rolling out Facebook-esque profiles for businesses.</strong></p>
<p>The announcement, which was coupled with the introduction of a major redesign, is hoping to expand the number of brand pages on the platform.</p>
<p><span id="more-343"></span> Twitter&#8217;s existing brand pages have been under the radar, especially compared with the buildup around Google+ brand pages, which were launched early last month.  But according to reports, Chief Revenue Officer Adam Bain said that he&#8217;s spent the better part of the past year meeting with marketing officials, and brand pages were a recurring and frequent request.</p>
<p>For Twitter, launching brand pages could be a way of challenging Facebook as the traditional secondary branded destination for a company after its own website.</p>
<p>Here in the Tanka office, we have the argument that most Businesses that want to be on Twitter, are <em>already</em> on Twitter.  But can this big new re-design strategy be the thing to convert those who aren&#8217;t?</p>
<p>So far, Twitter will be rolling out the new corporate design with a few big businesses already participating:  American Express, Best Buy, Bing, Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Dell, Disney, General Electric, Hewlitt-Packard, Intel, JetBlue, Kia, McDonald’s, Nike, PepsiCo, Staples, Verizon Wireless, NYSE Euronext, Heineken, Subway and Paramount Pictures to name a few.</p>
<p>The question now remains, will this Twitter business page strategy become available for small, local businesses?  Or will it remain exclusively for large corporations?</p>
